ITC Meeting
May 4, 2018
Meeting called to order at 1:15pm

Attendees: Kevin Kean, Marianne Fallon, Charles Menoche, Richard Bachoo, Tom Burkholder, Tina Rivera-Rowe, Matthew Orange, Chad Valk, Claude Abbott, Maria Casas, Chard Tower, Derek Piece, Reza Ghosi, Gena Givens, Sean McNichol, Ryan Kelly, Chad Albert, Kristina Edwards

1. Minutes
a. Minutes approved

2. Software Versioning Issue
a. JAVA
i. Usually twice a semester upgrades, but there are inherent security risks
ii. Java will be uninstalled on all computers except those in the Bursar’s Office – May 17th
iii. Not needed for Banner
iv. Teaching stations will be getting JRE
1. JRE will autoupdate
2. IF JAVA is needed, then people can submit a classroom request form
v. If faculty need JAVA on computers, they can download it
b. SPSS
i. Running v22; v25 came out in the Winter
ii. New license server needs to be set up
iii. No date on shutting down v22 – probably August post-session
iv. Departments should poll their members about use and plug-ins
v. Keep eyes on the IT weekly announcements

3. Integrated Planning Committee
a. Submissions  http://www.ccsu.edu/ipc/submissionsUnderReview.html
b. MS in Supply Chain and Logistics Management (no review required)

4. Reports from Subcommittees
a. LMS (Burkholder, Fallon, et al.)
i. Jenn Nicoletti, Tom Burkholder, and Joe Farhat serving on BOR committee
ii. Need to gather data on usage and preferences from faculty
b. P&T/ITC Subcommittee (Menoche, Burkholder, Casas, Rivera-Rowe)
i. Work on something over the summer and pilot next Fall for Departments
ii. Portfolio management
c. Website Advisory Committee (Orange)
i. Strike a balance between M&C and usability of current faculty, staff, and students
ii. Possibility to host server on campus
iii. Suggestions for quick “finds” (e.g., catalog)
iv. Requires feedback from faculty and students for what they can’t do or find
v. More control of website change to departments so that every request doesn’t need to go through multiple requests?
1. Changes for Galleries, Newsfeeds, and Calendars can be updated through WebCapp
2. Other larger changes still need to go through M&C so that department pages can appear consistent and globally coherent
3. Suggestion: On-campus browsers should open to the Central Pipeline page
d. Election Committee (Orange)
i. Defer elections to Fall (don’t know who has been elected)

ii. Burkholder will secure rooms and agenda for first meeting, regarding of the outcome of election

5. ITC Website
a. Progress, but not available yet

6. Solidworks (Engineering)
a. Software request approved by the ITC
b. But there was an additional $5,100
i. If this is added, some of the “lower priority”, but approved items
c. Motion to reopen software recommendation
i. Menoche; Orange
ii. Motion approved
d. Motion to request administration (Bachoo) to fund the added cost of Solidworks
i. Menoche; Orange
ii. Motion approved

7. New Business
a. Select Survey Upgrade (Rivera-Rowe)
i. Monday, May 7
b. Classroom upgrades (Valk)
i. 6 to 7 weeks within summer session
ii. get off analog systems, new document cameras, and large projection screens
