ITC Minutes: November 1, 2019

IT Announcements
OneDrive is coming in January. M drives will be going away; all files will be moved to OneDrive. Informational sessions will be held in November and December.
Question about moving S: department shares – project for next year.
Windows 7 Support Ending Soon – IT is working with departments to get everyone on Windows 10 by January. If you have a need to keep Windows 7 with a machine connected to an instrument or machine, contact the IT Department. Windows 10 is available for free for home from Azure Dev Tools for Teaching.
Catalina – the new Mac OS has been released. IT needs to do testing before rolling it out.

Committee Reports
Learning Mgmt System – The committee is working on the RFP. Should be finalized in a week. The plan is to review submissions in early January. Will be looking for people to test at that time.
P&T/ITC – The process has been approved for online submissions – open to everyone who wants to submit.
Online Learning – Sharon Clapp will represent the ITC.
Website Advisory – quiet for now
Software & Hardware Requests – The requests need to be submitted by December 1. Charles will send out the message to Academic Departments list. Committee will review for presentation at the December 6 meeting.
New Business
Proposal to form ITC/Online Learning Committee group to discuss next steps. Discussions will take place in the spring. Possible Call for Proposals for new online teaching evaluation solutions.
Do we want to consider alternate attendance solutions for conferences, illness, etc? Use Microsoft Teams? Teams allows for video conferencing. Charles will not be at the next meeting but could call in. Sean McNickle suggested that an ITC Teams group be set up and could be tested before the next meeting.
MyAnalytics w/Office365 – should we be concerned? Data is private to each user. Users can opt-out.
