New Business
Specialized Lab Computer Issues
A discussion was started regarding departments who purchase instruments or other peripheral devices and need a computer hooked up to it and/or specialized software installed. This causes challenges for IT. IT doesn’t know these needs exist until the department asks for a computer and/or a network outlet. Should a policy be established where the purchase of a special device triggers a communication to IT that this purchase is coming and the requirements that go along with the device so that discussions can happen before the device arrives. No decisions were made, the discussion will continue.
Online Student Opinion Surveys
These surveys are required for online courses and an option for on-ground courses. The student response rate has been low. The Online Learning Committee would like some feedback on how we can increase student response rates. Should the students be given an incentive to respond?
